The average take-home salary (after taxes) reached €1,594.90, an increase of 2.4% over the quarter and 9.1% over the year.
In the first quarter of 2026, the average gross salary was lower at 2,554.20 euros and the net salary was around 1,560 euros.
For comparison: in the fourth quarter of 2025, the average take-home salary was 1,514 euros .
In the public sector, salaries are traditionally higher. In the second quarter of 2026, the average gross salary here was 2,819.10 euros (an increase of 4.6% over the quarter and 11.3% over the year), in the private sector it was 2,547.90 euros (an increase of 2.2% and 9.6%, respectively).
Civil servants received an average of 1,705.60 euros, employees of private companies - 1,554.20 euros.
The gap between the capital region and the rest of the country remains significant. In the second quarter of 2026, the average gross salary in the Vilnius region was 2,879.70 euros, while in Central and Western Lithuania it was 2,425.70 euros.
The lowest salaries are in Marijampolė County (€2,140.80).
The maximum average gross salary is recorded in Vilnius City Municipality – 2,966.70 euros. The minimum – in Zarasai district – 1,941 euros.

According to the Manoalga.lt survey, salaries in Lithuania vary significantly depending on age:
Men on average earn 18.4% more than women: €2,268 versus €1,916 .

In July 2026, more than 60 Lithuanian companies paid an average salary of over 10,000 euros (gross). Financial and energy companies topped the list, but high figures are often based on one-off payments rather than a constant level of income.
In January 2026, the fintech company Onlychain Fintech became the leader in terms of average salary - 79,900 euros gross with a staff of only 12 people. In February, Apple Lithuania (13 employees) set a record of the year - 95,580 euros, although in normal months the company pays in the range of 11,000-20,000 euros. In the same month, Girteka Group (5 employees) paid an average of 49,150 euros, and Eastnine Lithuania (7 employees) – 38,850 euros.
Such "astronomical" amounts are usually related to severance payments, annual bonuses or the exercise of options, rather than a constant level of wages. Apple Lithuania's staff is stable, so the February anomaly is clearly caused by one-off payments.
In the wholesale segment, in January-July 2026, the average salary in the 20 highest-paid companies was 9,960 euros, which is 5% more than a year earlier. Seven companies exceeded the threshold of 10,000 euros per month, and half of them are pharmaceuticals.
The top ten also included Merck Sharp & Dohme, Medison Pharma Lithuania and Roche Lietuva. Philip Morris Baltic, with an average salary of €10,450 and 137 employees, was the largest employer in terms of the number of employees on this list.
In the public sector, the picture is more transparent, since they often use the median rather than the average value, which avoids distortions due to single large payments. In May 2026, the leaders in terms of median salary among state-owned companies were:
Ignitis Renewables' remuneration report shows that management (4 people) received an average fixed salary of €14,181 plus an average of €2,949 in variable part per month. A median of around €5,000 means that the company has a significant number of high-paying technical and managerial positions, but also employees with incomes around the middle level.
In general, Lithuania does offer jobs with salaries above €10,000 per month, but they are concentrated in fintech, pharmaceuticals, technology companies like Huawei, and state-owned energy companies. For most applicants, there are very few such positions, and they require rare skills or experience of top management.
The Ministry of Finance of Lithuania predicts an increase in the average gross salary in 2026 by 7.9%, in 2027 - by 6.1%. Inflation is expected at 3.7%, which means a moderate but positive growth in real incomes.
Industry forecasts indicate that wages are growing fastest in construction, agriculture and the legal sector, while in IT, the highest-paid sector, the growth rate has slowed down .
