Average salaries in Lithuania in 2026

Wages in Lithuania continue to grow, although the pace of this growth has slowed down compared to peak years. If in 2022-2024 nominal wages added 10-13% per year, then in 2026 growth is expected to be about 8% - adjusted for inflation, the real increase in incomes is more modest.

  • in second place: Kaunas County – €2,642.40;
  • in third place: Klaipėda County – €2,447.50;
  • in fourth place: Telšiai County – €2,337.00;

    What does the salary depend on: age and gender

    According to the Manoalga.lt survey, salaries in Lithuania vary significantly depending on age:

    • up to 24 years of age: average net salary 1,582 €;
    • 25–34 years: €2,134;
  • 35-44 years: €2,304 (career peak);
  • 45–54 years: €2,174;
  • 55+: 2 035 €.
  • Men on average earn 18.4% more than women: €2,268 versus €1,916 .

    The highest salaries in Lithuania: impressive numbers

    In July 2026, more than 60 Lithuanian companies paid an average salary of over 10,000 euros (gross). Financial and energy companies topped the list, but high figures are often based on one-off payments rather than a constant level of income.

    Fintech: Extreme salaries in one month

    In January 2026, the fintech company Onlychain Fintech became the leader in terms of average salary - 79,900 euros gross with a staff of only 12 people. In February, Apple Lithuania (13 employees) set a record of the year - 95,580 euros, although in normal months the company pays in the range of 11,000-20,000 euros. In the same month, Girteka Group (5 employees) paid an average of 49,150 euros, and Eastnine Lithuania (7 employees) – 38,850 euros.

    Such "astronomical" amounts are usually related to severance payments, annual bonuses or the exercise of options, rather than a constant level of wages. Apple Lithuania's staff is stable, so the February anomaly is clearly caused by one-off payments.

    Wholesale: pharmaceuticals and tech giants

    In the wholesale segment, in January-July 2026, the average salary in the 20 highest-paid companies was 9,960 euros, which is 5% more than a year earlier. Seven companies exceeded the threshold of 10,000 euros per month, and half of them are pharmaceuticals.

    • in first place: Huawei Technologies — €11,900 (11 employees), an increase of 58.5% over the year;
  • in second place: CM Kaunas — €11,900;
  • in third place: Skovs Korn Baltic — €11,850, an increase of 35.5%;
  • in fourth place: AbbVie — €10,520;
  • in fifth place: Eli Lilly Lietuva — 10,500 €.
  • The top ten also included Merck Sharp & Dohme, Medison Pharma Lithuania and Roche Lietuva. Philip Morris Baltic, with an average salary of €10,450 and 137 employees, was the largest employer in terms of the number of employees on this list.

    State-owned companies: "consistently high" salaries

    In the public sector, the picture is more transparent, since they often use the median rather than the average value, which avoids distortions due to single large payments. In May 2026, the leaders in terms of median salary among state-owned companies were:

    • in first place: Ignitis grupė – median €5,570 (76 employees);
  • in second place: Turto bankas – 5 520 € (250 employees);
  • in third place: EPSO-G – €5,250 (85 employees);
  • in fourth place: Baltpool – €5,040 (29 employees);
  • in fifth place: Ignitis Renewables – €4,890 (167 employees).
  • Ignitis Renewables' remuneration report shows that management (4 people) received an average fixed salary of €14,181 plus an average of €2,949 in variable part per month. A median of around €5,000 means that the company has a significant number of high-paying technical and managerial positions, but also employees with incomes around the middle level.

    Why "high" numbers need to be sorted out in parts

  • The first problem is that there are few employees — one person can distort the average. Onlychain Fintech has only 12 people, while Apple Lithuania has 13. One or two large annual bonuses or severance payments to management can make the "average salary" for the company look astronomical.
  • The second problem: one-time payments create an illusion. The former CEO of Lietuvos Geležinkeliai, when he left in 2026, received severance pay for 6 months - almost 87,900 euros gross, about 54,000 euros on hand. If you include this amount in the monthly payroll, the figure for this month will be greatly distorted.
  • The third problem is that the median is more honest than the average. The median in state-owned companies is around 5,000 euros , which suggests that high salaries do exist, but they are distributed relatively evenly. And the "average 10,000+" in private wholesale trade is more often focused on a few key employees.
  • In general, Lithuania does offer jobs with salaries above €10,000 per month, but they are concentrated in fintech, pharmaceuticals, technology companies like Huawei, and state-owned energy companies. For most applicants, there are very few such positions, and they require rare skills or experience of top management.

    What the forecasts say

    The Ministry of Finance of Lithuania predicts an increase in the average gross salary in 2026 by 7.9%, in 2027 - by 6.1%. Inflation is expected at 3.7%, which means a moderate but positive growth in real incomes.

    Industry forecasts indicate that wages are growing fastest in construction, agriculture and the legal sector, while in IT, the highest-paid sector, the growth rate has slowed down .
